I resqued this 1954 Fordson Major Diesel in 2005. It had been stored outside for 8-10 years, the tyres where flat, and the brakes shoes rusted to the drum. After a few days with rust penetrating oil I was able to get it moving. three of four tyres held air, and the fourth got the inner tube patched.

With the brakes free, and the tyres holding air, we towed it home. You can see form the almost pink wheels and the light blue bonnet that it has bee in the sun for a while.

The engine oil was drained, and fuel and oilfilter replaced. Drained a few litres of diesel from the tank to get the bottomsludge out, and evacuated air from the fuel system. Cleaned the air filter box, and fitted a battery.

I knew this tractor had run 8-10 yeras ago, and was qurious to see if it would start now. And you would not beleive how easy it startet, the first hit on the starter and it fired and died, I pushed the cold start button and hit the starter again, and the pale Major started idling smooth right away.
